Event Details:

Showcase four (4) films from around the world.  45 – 100 minutes film screening followed by 30 minutes discussion/dialogue.

The Tibetan Book of the Dead: The Great Liberation – A two-part series explores ancient teachings on death and dying. It was filmed over a four-month period on location in the Himalayas where the original text still yields an essential influence over people’s views of life and death. Narrated by Leonard Cohen.  The 49-days journey towards rebirth is envisioned through actual photography of rarely seen Buddhist rituals.

Unmistaken Child – Charged with the task from the Dalai Lama, his devoted deciple, Tenzin Zopa spends a four-year search for the reincarnation of his spiritual leader, Tibetan master Geshe Lama Konchog. Visually stunning and emotionally gripping, Unmistaken Child is the first real time documentation of the search for a reincarnated master.

Buddha’s Lost Children – documentary film about a Thai Buddhist monk who – armed only with his faith and skills and master boxer skills – wages an inspirational battle to help orphaned children, fight drug abuse, and preserve a vanishing way of life

The Knowledge of Healing – The first feature documentary dealing extensively with Tibetan medicine, one of the most highly developed medical systems, THE KNOWLEDGE OF HEALING presents evidence that deserves serious consideration as a supplement to Western medical technology.
